Facebook Co-founder Chris Chris Hughes calls on President Trump to break up Facebook, calling Mark Zuckerberg’s power, “unprecedented and un-American” in a New York Times op-ed. He goes further and says Facebook should be separate, public companies.
The legal case against Facebook is bolstered by a long history in the United States of anti-monopoly loaws. Other legal challenges aimed at ending political censorship in several states as well as countries such as Poland have been recently brought to light. The question remains, is Facebook a publisher in-which it is not responsible for it’s user’s content or is it claiming responsibility for it’s content by censoring and curating content on the site? The Zucc cannot have it both ways.
